ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
Architectural design requirements are determined by each municipality. Some farm structures and residential garages may not require architectural services, often, commercial, and industrial projects will, and these can range from building renderings to a complete set of drawings. Steel Built Corp. will introduce you to our professional architects and help determine the services your project requires.
INSULATION
There are three main types of metal building insulation: insulated metal panels, metal building-type fibre glass insulation, and spray foam insulation. The Steel Built Corp. team can help you determine the cost and benefits of each type, so that you can make an informed decision. We can also arrange the delivery and installation of the one you choose.
BUILDING INSTALLATION
Hiring an experienced erector is key to the success of a large project. Steel Built Corp. has a wide network of skilled erectors from coast to coast to coast who will quote on completing your project. Whether or not your steel building project is intended as a do-it-yourself kit, it’s often helpful to find out the cost to have a professional team complete the erection.
SITE PLAN
Site planning varies according to the project and the municipality where the building is being placed; requirements may include services and connections, detailing setbacks, a fire plan, topographic details, and a survey. Steel Built Corp. has a team that handles the site plan portion of a project. We often recommend applying for site plan approval PRIOR to ordering a building, to ensure your desired building is permitted in the specific location.
PERMIT APPLICATIONS
Customers often submit their own permit application; when you order a Steel Built Corp. stamped structural drawings are provided for the permit submission. However, your project may require additional information such as stamped foundation drawings, architectural, site plan, etc., Steel Built Corp. can provide these through our professional network.
BUILDING SITE GRADING & PREPARATION
Preparation and grading is usually performed by the contracted concrete and foundation services, which may be handled by the customer. Steel Built Corp.’s concrete services can include a competitive quote for site grading and preparation, if desired.
FOUNDATION INSTALLATION
Foundation installation can only be done after a stamped foundation drawing has been prepared; the foundation drawing needs the information from the stamped structural drawings to be completed.
A foundation engineer will work with a customer to determine the best type of foundation for the project which will require geotechnical information in order to be accurate. When the type of foundation is determined, it can be accurately priced under concrete services by the Steel Built Corp. team.
CONCRETE SERVICES
Concrete services are more than just a perimeter foundation. Our network includes companies in locations covering most of Canada, who will perform services such as slab work for the floors, in-floor heating (if required), concrete finishing, and civil service (if required).
